Insula Perdita

The initial title was to be "The Tear of the Shadow," but I changed my mind and opted for this one. Indeed, there is a great deal of turmoil, opposition, and contrast, both emotional and virtual, in this composition. Like a shipwreck on a lost island, the eddies of emotion seem frozen in time.

The warm, earthy tones bring everything back to a more human, even "earthly," dimension, but one shouldn't be swayed by sentimentality, as the elements create a strong, visceral, and organic tension.

Nevertheless, a certain coherence and a form of peace emerge in the capture of the present moment, combined with the spiritual dimension of someone learning to know themselves better.
